Carlos A Walton
Carlos earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Hampton University and his Master’s degree in Education from Cambridge College. He has served as a certified math teacher, dean and interim acting Principal for NYC’s Dept. of Education for almost 20 years, and presently serves as an Academic Interventionist for Newark Public Schools of New Jersey. He started his first nonprofit in 2000, APEX (African People EXalting) Inc. and went on to found Growing4ward Inc. in 2016. Through both companies he has provided College Tours and College Prep Workshop Series annually, since 1996.
He has been successfully placing students from underserved communities into prominent Historically Black Colleges and Universities for over 20 years. He has also taken groups of HS age young men to Washington, DC for the Congressional Black Caucus-Annual Legislative Conference for the past 10 years, developed the KING CAMP initiative for older boys transitioning into manhood, and has profoundly facilitated countless workshops, educational excursions, mentoring initiatives, panel discussions and keynotes, all in an effort to educate and empower our youth.
